The basics
What does no win no fee mean?
No win no fee is the everyday name for a conditional fee agreement, or CFA. It is a contract between you and your solicitor. If your claim does not succeed, you pay nothing for our work. It removes the biggest barrier to making a claim, which is the fear of legal bills.
If you win, most of your legal costs are paid by the other side. Anything deducted from your compensation is agreed with you in writing before your claim begins, and the deduction is capped by regulation as well as by your own agreement.
How your claim is protected

- If the claim does not succeed, the policy covers the costs and you pay nothing.
- Any extra cost is discussed with you before it is incurred, never after.

Do I need a no win no fee solicitor near me?
No. Personal injury claims in England and Wales are handled almost entirely on paper and by phone. Evidence is gathered remotely, medical appointments are booked near your home rather than near us, and the vast majority of claims settle without anyone setting foot in a courtroom. A local solicitor is a preference, not a requirement.
Where being local does help is if you would find a face to face meeting reassuring. If that is you and you are in or around the West Midlands, our Birmingham office is open by appointment.
Can I make a no win no fee claim anywhere in the UK?
We act for clients across England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland run separate legal systems with their own rules on funding and time limits, so a claim arising there needs a solicitor qualified in that jurisdiction. If you contact us and your claim falls outside England and Wales, we will tell you on the first call rather than after you have signed anything.
Does where I live change what I pay?
No. The terms of a conditional fee agreement do not vary by postcode. There is nothing to pay upfront wherever you are, nothing to pay if the claim does not succeed, and the deduction that applies if it does succeed is set out in writing before you sign.
